Discover the history of Les Sources du Chéry

Welcome to the source... of inspiration.

Water has always played a central role in the history of Les Gets. When the village was created, the water springs that burst forth naturally on the hills of Mont Chéry were at the heart of the community of farmhouses and chalets. Later on, water enabled around a dozen sawmills to operate by suppling watermills located at the foot of the “Giets”, long steep corridors along which trees felled in the forest travelled down the mountain.

Water & wood

Wood was a natural choice for the creators of Les Sources du Chéry for the building’s architecture and interior design.

Outward-looking

Les Gets has always been a family-friendly village. In the 1920s and 1930s, its 3 hotels and its ski schools attracted a flock of visitors, often families, from all over the region. On Thursdays – the children’s day off at that time – and on Sundays, dozens of coaches came to Les Gets from Geneva. By focusing on families, in particular with its special children’s areas, Les Sources du Chéry continues the resort’s legacy.

A leap into the future

By drawing inspiration from Les Gets’ past, Les Sources du Chéry can better anticipate the future, spearheading innovative concepts in the local area: a SPA with facilities of over 1,000 m2, open all year round, summer and winter, along with an art gallery featuring a number of nationally-acclaimed artists. There is everything for a unique visitor experience.
